The aim of this Disputatio is to explore the transdisciplinary potential of history as an object of translation research, and, vice versa, of translation as an object of historical research. Two distinguished scholars, Christopher Rundle (University of Bologna) and Luc van Doorslaer (University of Leuven), will enter into a border-crossing dialogue and will discuss some of the central interfaces of translation and history, including translation concepts in historiography and shared and dividing discourses in the two disciplines.
