Guest Lecture: Peninah Lesorogol

Foto für News

We cordially invite you to a guest lecture by Samburu leader Peninah Lesorogol.

As part of the lecture series "Culture and Civilization: Borderlands in the Anglosphere," Peninah will share her personal journey and shed light on the harsh realities imposed by British colonialism and its enduring impact on her life and identity. Drawing on her own experiences growing up in the Samburu people of Northern Kenya, she will delve into the complexities of the importance of cultural resistance, resilience and the ongoing struggle for empowerment in post-colonial contexts.

Join us as Peninah navigates the complex intersections of history, tradition and modernity and offers profound insights into the intricacies of borderland existence within the Anglosphere.

Thursday, 23 May, 17:00

Room 1.010, Merangasse 70, Graz

If you have any questions about this lecture, please send an email to hanna.blum(at)uni-graz.at.
