Focus on South-Eastern Europe

The Department of Translation Studies contributes to the university’s research focus on South-Eastern Europe, examining linguistic, socio-cultural and historical aspects associated with the region. This focus is reflected both in the languages offered at the Department language offer and its close cooperation with universities in Croatia (Osjek, Zagreb), Hungary (Pécs), Macedonia (Skopje) and Slovenia (Ljubljana, Maribor). Every year, the Department welcomes many students from these countries underlining its reputation as a leading institution for translator and interpreter training.
