Eine Veranstaltung im Rahmen des Festivals Tribuna 2.0
Neben einer enormen Vielfalt an Tier- und Pflanzenarten ist das Amazonasgebiet Heimat für kontaktierte und in Abgeschiedenheit lebende indigene Gemeinschaften. Ihr Lebensraum und unser aller Klima sind durch Erdölförderung, Kraftwerke, Plantagen, Abholzung und Waldbrände akut bedroht. Zugleich könnten wir von den jahrtausendealten Praktiken der Bewohner*innen Amazoniens viel für den Erhalt dieses und anderer besonderer Ökosysteme lernen. Unter dem Motto „Amazonas Akut!“ informieren Forscher*innen und Aktivist*innen Festivalbesucher*innen über sozioökologische Bedrohungen der indigenen Bevölkerung Amazoniens. Es werden unser westlicher Beitrag zur Lage im Amazonasgebiet Lateinamerikas diskutiert aber auch die Abkehr von weiterer Zerstörung und Raubbau an indigenen Lebensräumen ergründet.
Rafael Schögler erkundet in seinem Beitrag „Kann Natur un_übersetzt bleiben?“ die Wissenschaftsübersetzung in der Botanik, das Übersetzen von altem Wissen über Pflanzen sowie das Recht auf Un_übersetzung von indigenen in Abgeschiedenheit lebenden Gemeinschaften. Christina Korak thematisiert in ihrem Vortrag „Kosmovisionen im Konflikt“ wie Sprache, Übersetzen und Dolmetschen es dem evangelikalen Summer Institute of Linguistics ab 1958 bis in die 1980-er Jahre ermöglichte, Familiengruppen der Waorani Ecuadors zu kontaktieren.

Discussion event Amazonas Akut!

Besides an enormous diversity of flora and fauna, the Amazon is home to contacted indigenous people and and peoples in voluntary isolation. Their habitat and our climate are under acute threat from oil exploration, power plants, plantations, deforestation and forest fires. At the same time, we could learn a lot from the ancient practices of the inhabitants of the Amazon for the preservation of this and other special ecosystems. Under the heading "Amazon Akut!" (Amazon Acute), researchers and activists will inform festival visitors about socio-ecological threats to the indigenous populations of the Amazon. Our western contribution to the situation in Latin America's Amazon will be discussed, but it will also be debated how we can avert further destruction and overexploitation of indigenous habitats.
In his contribution "Kann Natur un_übersetzt bleiben?" (Can nature remain un_translated?) Rafael Schögler explores scholarly translation in botany, the translation of ancestral knowledge about plants as well as the right to un_translation of isolated indigenous communities. In her lecture "Kosmovisionen im Konflikt" (Cosmovisions in Conflict), Christina Korak discusses how language, translation and interpreting enabled the evangelical Summer Institute of Linguistics to establish contact with family groups of the Waorani of Ecuador from 1958 until the 1980s.

Un evento del festival Tribuna 2.0
Además de albergar una enorme diversidad de flora y fauna, la Amazonía es el espacio vital de pueblos indígenas en contacto y de pueblos en aislamiento voluntario. Su hábitat y nuestro clima se encuentran gravemente amenazados por las prospecciones petrolíferas, las centrales eléctricas, las plantaciones, la deforestación y los incendios forestales. Al mismo tiempo, podríamos aprender mucho de las prácticas ancestrales de los habitantes de la Amazonía para la preservación de este y otros ecosistemas especiales. Bajo el título "Amazonas Akut!" (Amazonía Aguda), investigadores y activistas informarán a los visitantes del festival sobre las amenazas socioecológicas que pesan sobre las poblaciones indígenas amazónicas. Se discutirá nuestra contribución occidental a la situación de la Amazonia latinoamericana, pero también se debatirá cómo podemos evitar una mayor destrucción y sobreexplotación de los hábitats indígenas.
En su contribución "Kann Natur un_übersetzt bleiben?" (¿Puede la naturaleza permanecer sin_traducir?) Rafael Schögler explora la traducción científica en botánica, la traducción del conocimiento ancestral sobre las plantas, así como el derecho a la no_traducción de las comunidades indígenas aisladas. En su conferencia "Kosmovisionen im Konflikt" (Cosmovisiones en conflicto), Christina Korak analiza cómo la lengua, la traducción y la interpretación permitieron al Instituto Lingüístico de Verano establecer contacto con grupos familiares de los waorani de Ecuador desde 1958 hasta los años ochenta.
